Personal Support Worker (PSW) Diploma ProgramThe Personal Support Worker program at Canadian International Health Institute will prepare you for the various challenges and experiences that are part of the expanding Health Care setting.With our complete Lab equipment and Advance facility, Flexible schedules and Highly qualified Instructors you will be on your way for a successful start.

Certified Personal Support Workers are trained in our school to give excellent care to client. The program deal with providing care to the elderly that reflects a holistic, coordinated and integrated approach to the provision of care required by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Program and Services Standards, Residents Bill of Rights and the principles of individualized care planning.

Theory: 285 hours in class Supervised Clinical Placement (with Transitions instructor): 180 hours (approx. 4.5 wks. @ 40 hrs. per wk.) Precepted Clinical Placement (with Nursing Home and Community Preceptors): 175 hours (approx. 5 wks. @ 35-40 hrs. per wk.) First aid and CPR certification is mandatory and is not included in total hours outlined here Maximum 20 students per class Completion of homework is required Passing Grade (70% in all of Section 1, Section 2 and the additional 8 modules) College Diploma issued upon successful completion of course A minimum enrollment of six students is required to hold this program

The instructor will provide technical and practical hands on training to gain knowledge and skills required.The learning sequence provides a logical and straight forward approach to learning the core knowledge and competences.
